The name Saint John is never abbreviated so as to avoid confusion with the capital of Newfoundland which is written as St. John. Saint John which sits at the mouth of the Saint John River is the oldest incorporated city in the country. But it is probably best known for its Moosehead Beer and Reversing Falls.
The city of Moncton is the major transportation and distribution center for the Atlantic provinces. There are some attractions in this area. Magnetic Hill is a site where a car or bike at the bottom of a hill will drift upward. The Rocks Provincial Park features unusual erosions from the great tides. It is a great experience to walk among these rocks on the wet sandy bottom when the tide is out.
